GESTE Engineering is proud to have contributed, in collaboration with CERTIFER, at the First Manned Hyperloop Demonstration.
Sunday 8th and Monday 9th November 2020, at APEX site in Nevada (USA), Virgin Hyperloop has performed the first full-system test using a levitating Pod with two passengers on-board. The Pod moved along the 500 meters of tube, in vacuum environment, up to 45 m/s (162 km/h).
Michele Mossi CEO of GESTE Engineering has worked as member of the Independent Safety Assessor Team to deliver the Safety Certification of the System in accordance to the CENELEC standards.
An old passion that of Hyperloop for Michele who led already between 1999 and 2003 the development of the Swissmetro project, a high-speed vehicle moving in levitation in tunnels under partial air vacuum, based on the similar concept of Hyperloop.
Involved with him in the project, Gerardo Fasano, RAMS Manager in GESTE Engineering, who has worked with enthusiasm and commitment as member of Virgin Hyperloop Pegasus Team in the role of Software and System Verifier Lead.
This achievement commits even more GESTE in the continuation of its mission for the development of sustainable mobility and innovative transportation system.
To Virgin Hyperloop and Pegasus Team our best congratulation for this great achievement and may thanks for the constructive and fruitful collaboration.
